Bertam Water Reservoir is one of the main supply of nearby community household uses. It was reported the water quality had drop and water received from this reservoir was found to be cloudy and not safe to be consume.



Survey and Cleaning of Limestone and Sand Sediment in Bertam Water Reservoir using Airlift Method


Bertam Water Reservoir is one of the main supply of nearby community household uses. It was reported the water quality had drop and water received from this reservoir was found to be cloudy and not safe to be consume. Therefore, ERSB were task to investigate the source of the problem and solve the problem. It was found that limestone along with fine sand sediment had build up at the bottom of the tank which cause the water to be in stated condition. One team of divers were task to remove the sediment using airlift with 6.5 cm in size. This operation was conducted for 5040 minutes with no delay and injury reported.
